Wir hatten eine sehr interessante Unterhaltung …und dieses Gespräch bestätigte mich in meinem Weg.
In seiner anschließenden Präsentation erzählte er über seine Erfahrungen bei seinen Einsätzen im Irak, in Südafrika und anderen Ländern.
Hier einige seiner wichtigsten Botschaften:
- Believe in yourself.
- Keep learning all your life.
- Do things differently.
- Develop a range of skill sets and experience.
- What is really valuable is the real world.
- Bridge the gap.
- Citation of an African man: “People who will help us are the people far far away.” ...Citation of Heinzel: “…and they are us.”
- Poverty is the lack of choice.
- The world is changing so quickly. Be ready to see it.
- Respect local knowledge and learn from local people.
- Interact with other cultures. Go far away. Gain experience.
- Success could be a poor teacher.
